DragonFen Frequently Asked Questions

What is DragonFen?
DragonFen is a Medieval Re-creation organization, focusing on fantasy as well as historical aspects of the medieval time period.

Fantasy you say? What does that mean?
Fantasy, meaning that DragonFen welcomes all manner of creatures. We have fairies and wizards, dwarves and elves. We also welcome the standard human.

These creatures don't exist! How can you welcome them?
DragonFen suppresses the "Mundane" world, and all members take on the aspect of a character. If you can play the creature, you can be that character

So what does DragonFen do?
DragonFen re-creates a medieval Kingdom, with a King and Queen, Dukes, Knights, Lords and Ladies. The Members of DragonFen work toward earning their nobility within the Kingdom, and participate in classes teaching medieval skills and projects.

Are you a Social Club?
While socializing happens in any organization, we are NOT a Social Club. Our goal is to teach and to learn, while giving the members a fun setting and a sense of accomplishment as they earn titles and prestige in the Kingdom.

Are you part of the (insert name here)?
No. While we know and are known by other organizations, we are our own kingdom, and not a branch or offshoot of any other group. However, we do socialize with groups and organizations that are similar to ours.

How do I join DragonFen?
The easiest way to do this is to sign up on the forums. Create a name for yourself and start interacting with other members of DragonFen. Depending on your area, go to a fighter practice or an event and introduce yourself.

That's it?
In essense. When you first show up to any practice/gathering/event, you should be introduced to one of our DragonGate Keepers. Eventually, during one of the two Royal Events, you can petition to be an Indentured Servant, as long as you have a DragonFen member to sponsor you.

I have Children/I am under 18. Is this a problem?
Not at all. DragonFen welcomes all ages. We have programs for those under 18, as well as family programs. We have many families that are part of DragonFen, and it is a fun atmosphere for everyone.

I am a member of another Medieval group. How will this affect me, if I come to visit DragonFen?
It will not. You can come visit at any time as a member of the group, and you will be treated with courtesy. If you are a member of a group that we recognize as an ally, then you will receive the honors you deserve. As our guest, you may partake in a limited amount of what DragonFen does. However, please keep in mind; If we came to your group, we would follow your rules and laws. Please return this simple courtesy and follow ours.

Who is Platt, and what is the bear everyone talks about?
Platt is a jester; we tolerate him in DragonFen, simply because we can't get rid of him. The teddy bear is called "Platt Bear", and is Platt's constant companion. Platt constantly blames the bear for anything that Platt may do. Platt has convinced most of DragonFen that the bear is alive, and many have seen the bear riding rats and stealing things. However, the King of DragonFen refuses to believe the bear is anything more than a stuffed animal. For more information on Platt, check out his web page
